12 Daniel Mark III Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meters assembly
Section 2: Product overview Reference, Installation, and Operations Manual
August 2014 3-9000-743 Rev U
2.2.1 Daniel Mark III Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meters assembly
The Mark III electronics assembly consists of an upper explosion-proof Mark III housing and a
lower intrinsically-safe Mark III base unit assembly (see Figure 2-2). The user field I/O wiring that
enters the upper explosion-proof Mark III housing must be explosion-proof wiring as noted in
Section 3.3.5 and Section 3.3.6. None of the connections to this upper explosion-proof Mark III
housing are intrinsically safe.
The transducer cabling exiting from the lower intrinsically safe Mark III base unit is intrinsically
safe so that the user may perform maintenance on the transducers without the need to remove
power from the meter.
Upper explosion-proof housing
a Daniel Mark III Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meter CPU (Central Processing Unit) Board
a Field Connection Board (for making electrical connections)
